Beermosa
The brunch-table beer answer to the Mimosa: chilled hefeweizen topped with fresh orange juice. Light, citrusy, and dangerously easy to keep drinking.

- 8 oz chilled hefeweizen or wheat beer
- 4 oz fresh orange juice
- Orange slice, to garnish
Instructions
- 1Chill a pint glass or stemless wine glass.
- 2Pour the orange juice into the glass first.
- 3Slowly pour the hefeweizen over the juice to preserve the fizz.
- 4Garnish with an orange slice and serve immediately.
Origin & Story
The Beermosa emerged from American brunch culture in the 1990s and 2000s as bartenders and home drinkers started riffing on the classic Mimosa template. Swapping champagne for a chilled hefeweizen keeps the orange-juice pairing but adds the yeasty, banana-forward character of a wheat beer, making it simultaneously more casual and more complex than the original. Today it's a staple at sports bars and brunch spots that want to offer something effervescent without the price tag of a sparkling wine cocktail.
