Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 0.5 oz maraschino liqueur
  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 oz crème de violette
  • Maraschino cherry, to garnish

Instructions

First published in Hugo Ensslin's 1916 bartending guide, its pale violet hue from crème de violette was said to evoke a clear sky, giving the drink its aviation-themed name.
