Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Licor 43
  • 1 oz fresh espresso
  • Coffee beans, to garnish

Instructions

  1. 1Add Licor 43 and hot espresso to a shaker with ice.
  2. 2Shake vigorously until well chilled and frothy.
  3. 3Strain into a rocks glass or coupe and garnish with coffee beans.

Origin & Story

Spain, early 1900s

Said to have originated among Spanish soldiers in Cuba who added liquor to their coffee for courage ('coraje' in Spanish), the drink later became a staple across Spain and Latin America with coffee liqueur or brandy.
