Origin & Story
Tony Abou-Ganim created the Cable Car at the Starlight Room at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco in 1996. Named after the city's famous cable cars, it was designed to bring warmth and holiday spirit to the hotel's signature cocktail list — cinnamon sugar on the rim was an innovation that foreshadowed the craft cocktail movement's obsession with enhanced garnishes.
