Origin & Story

Hollywood, California, 1930s

Donn Beach created the Beachcomber at his Hollywood restaurant Don the Beachcomber in the 1930s, one of the templates he used to build the Tiki cocktail movement. It sits at the intersection of the classic Daiquiri and the Margarita — using both triple sec and maraschino for sweetness, and optionally salting the rim — making it a pivotal link between the rum and tequila traditions of mid-century American cocktailing.
